I am so excited to finally be able to share these images with you guys!! Back in the spring, I began to shoot with a Contax 645, which is a film camera (more on why I choose to shoot film next week!). I really wanted my photography to start traveling in a specific direction, & sometimes the best way to get that across & creatively energize yourself is to style a shoot. However, I could never have imagined what would come of it or how dear it would be to me. Andrew + Tessa are non-biological members of our family who are some of my dearest friends, so when I began to dream up this shoot, they immediately came to mind. They celebrated 5 years of marriage this past May, & we styled the shoot around their commitment & effortless love. When we began thinking of a location, only one seemed to fit-Seaside, Florida. We go to this area every year as a family, & it is how we truly got to know Andrew (he quoted an entire Brian Regan stand-up show and we were sold forever). Since then, we have (thank the Lord) added sweet Tessa, loved on Rowan & Judah, eaten lots of doughnuts, tried to workout, gotten sun blisters & grown tremendously in love. Needless to say, it's special to us. Rebecca & I completely styled this shoot, including making the bouquet in our hotel room a few hours before ;) Here is a peek into the day that was published in the most recent issue of Dear Gray Magazine (buy your copy here!). As always, celebrate love & doughnuts & the ocean.
